Physical Examination (30 – 60 minutes)Based on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and physical examination, our doctors conclude whether the patient could be effectively treated by PLDD method (Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression). After being prescribed for PLDD, blood test is carried out right at Quang Minh Clinic. If the reports show normal biochemical parameters, patient would be prepared for PLDD. |

After local anesthesia, a thin needle (approx. 0.4 mm diameter) is inserted into the herniated disc under X-ray guidance. An optical fiber is inserted through the needle and laser energy is sent through this fiber, vaporizing a tiny portion of the disc nucleus. This creates a partial vacuum, which draws the herniation away from the nerve root, thereby relieving the pain. The effect usually is immediate. |
